GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER SINCE 2004
Dead Herring started out life as Charaderie in 2004 when we spent most of our time entertaining people at parties. Since then we’ve developed into team building specialists, identifying the skills needed to solve a mystery which can be put to good use in the workplace, and discovering the impact they can have within working teams. We rebranded in 2022 and continue to provide team building activities for teams of all sizes.

Professional Actors
Our professional actors are charismatic, witty and great at improvisation, they bring the storyline to life and interact with the delegates delivering a truly immersive and often hilarious experience. We don’t take the subject of murder too seriously.
Positive Evaluation
We can work with you to tackle key issues within your team, and to provide you with our observations of team dynamics throughout the day as a follow-up, making sure you can see the positive outcomes we’ve achieved together over the course of the day.
Flexibility
As you will have seen, we’ve got many different activities to choose depending on your requirements and even if none of them are the perfect fit, then we can easily adapt, or even write a fully bespoke script for you. There is truly a Dead Herring event for all occasions!

Helen is our chief Dead Herring; she comes from a varied background in theatre design, drama, writing, performing, team management and event planning.
What's in a name?
As a lover of puns, the name Dead Herring came about as a play on the classic ‘Red Herring’ with, of course, a strong nod to murder…

Helen draws on a trusted, talented and eclectic mix of actors who are all skilled in great characterisation and impressive improvisation skills. Most importantly, they can understand how her mind works and really get under the skin of the sometimes quirky and obscure plot lines!
